This is our 10th Birthday year!

Saturday 12th October will mark our 10th Birthday – a major milestone for the village, our customers and all the volunteers who have made Barnaby’s the success that it is. We’ll be celebrating that success with everyone who has made a contribution – whether large or small – details of which will be posted in the summer.

Meanwhile, just click here to meet some of the volunteers who make this fabulous place tick.

2024 kicks off

We’re delighted to be back to normal, following the seasonal festivities. There are volunteer shifts available on most days in January, which you can now access through our upgraded ShiftController system. Please log in and help yourselves.

To our customers, we look forward to welcoming you back to Barnaby’s. It’s our 10th year this year, and we’ll announce our plans to celebrate that soon.

We’re back on Wednesday 3rd January

Our wonderful volunteers are currently enjoying a very well-deserved break. Our thanks go to them for providing the Meon Valley with such a welcoming and cosy hub for meeting friends, sharing stories, and enjoying great coffee.

Barnaby’s will return at 2pm on Wednesday 3rd January. We’ll be celebrating our 10th birthday in 2024, so we look forward to sharing it with you.

Have you volunteered this year?

If you’ve volunteered at Barnaby’s this year, whether you have done one shift or many, you’ll have contributed towards the success of a fabulous community hub. Thank you.

We hope that these yummy Christmassy truffles (choose from champagne or cocoa-dusted) will go some way to acknowledging the time you have given to Barnaby’s and its customers, so come on in this week and collect your pressie!

Free mince pies this Christmas Week

This Christmas week, you’ll receive a free mince pie with every hot drink at Barnaby’s. For some reason, we think this will be quite popular! Our hours in Christmas week are:

  • Tuesday 19th December (10 to midday)
  • Wednesday 20th December (10 to midday)
  • Thursday 21st December (10 to midday)

Our wonderful volunteers will be back to welcome you in to Barnaby’s at 2pm on Wednesday 3rd January 2024.

Christmas goodies from BW Men’s Shed

On Saturday 16th December, we will welcome the creative chaps from Bishop’s Waltham Men’s Shed.  After the weather unfortunately ruined their recent event in Bishops Waltham, they still have lots of Christmas goodies to sell, so they will be set up outside Barnaby’s from 10am.  Please come and support them.

Inside, we’ll be supporting the works of Trinity Winchester once again. Trinity Winchester addresses the effects of homelessness and vulnerability through specialist practical and emotional support. Head to trinitywinchester.org.uk to find out more.

December at Barnaby’s

Our new Christmas specials are here! Choose from:

  • a yummy homemade gingerbread man and a  delicious gingerbread latte for just £3!  It’s a classic combination that’s well worth a try, particularly on colder days. Bring a friend and try one each!
  • our famous Festive Hot Chocolate now features cream, marshmallows & sprinkles in a large cup, all for just £2. Perfect for our younger customers.
  • finally, our wonderful bakers have made you yummy Snowflake Cookies, available at just £1.50. Come on in to Barnaby’s and have a try!

During Christmas week, Barnaby’s will be open on Tuesday 19th, Wednesday 20th and Thursday 21st, when free mince pies will be available to everyone for whom we make a tea or a coffee. We look forward to seeing you then!

Helping Hooves return

One our favourite local causes is Helping Hooves.  Based here in Swanmore, Helping Hooves assist those experiencing change caused by illness, injury, recovery or other trauma. So we’re looking forward to seeing “Mouse” and “Hamish” here on Saturday 18th November, to be brushed and loved by Barnaby’s customers . Bring an apple or a carrot!

As is customary on our Charity Awareness Days,  we’ll be giving half of our takings on the day, plus anything you are able to donate through our ‘Tap n’Go’ service.
